Ingredients required:
For the preparation of
Paste
- Roasted Peanuts - 1/2 a cup
- Spring Onion - 1 finely chopped
- Garlic Cloves -2
- Tamarind paste
- Red Chilies- 2
- Ginger - an inch
- Lemon Grass - Chopped stalk (1)
Roasting ingredients
- Coriander - 1/2 a teaspoon
- Cumin seeds - 1/2 a teaspoon
- Cloves - 2
- Bay Leaf -1
- Cardamom - 2
- Cinnamon - 1/2 an inches stick
Curry Ingredients
- Coconut Milk - 300 ml
- Tofu - 200 grams
- Broccoli
- Carrot - 1 chopped into an inch per piece approximately
- Sugar - 2 teaspoon
- Salt - as per the taste
Steps to prepare the
Massaman curry
- Begin with roasting all the dry ingredients that will
go into the making of Massaman curry paste.
- Take all the dry ingredients together in a pan and
roast them for a while, or for around 4-5 minutes on medium to low heat
until you get the aroma of the ingredients. When all the ingredients are
roasted, take the pan off the heat.
- Now, take all the ingredients mentioned for curry paste
and the roasted ingredients together in a mixer grinder. Grind them all by
adding a little water. And the Massaman curry paste is ready. Keep it
aside.
- For the preparation of curry, add
a teaspoon of oil and stir fry all the vegetables into it. Add a little
salt as well. When the vegetables are cooked partially, add in the coconut
milk, a cup of water, the tofu.
- Bring it to boil until the vegetables are cooked. You
can add a little spice as per your taste buds. And the Massaman Curry Recipe is
ready for a perfect dinner.
